Overview

Group 1 Automotive, Inc. is seeking an Information Technology Intern to join our IT team. The IT Department plays an important role in supporting the technology, systems, data, and digital solutions that enable Group 1’s business operations while driving innovation, efficiency, security, and continuous improvement across the organization.

 

This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience within the technology organization of a large, publicly traded company. Working alongside IT leadership and cross-functional partners, the intern will contribute to meaningful projects involving programming, data analytics, compliance, automation, and emerging technologies. The intern will also gain exposure to modern technology stacks and robotic process automation (RPA) while developing practical technical and problem-solving skills in a collaborative business environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support programming tasks and contribute to development work on IT initiatives
  • Assist with compliance-related documentation, reviews, and process validation
  • Gather, organize, and analyze data for ongoing analytics projects
  • Collaborate with the Director of IT and cross-functional team members on technology initiatives, utilizing modern tech stacks and robotic process automation (RPA) tools to support continuous improvement efforts

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program related to Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field
  • Preferred Minimum of a 3.00 cumulative GPA
  • Foundational programming or coding skills with familiarity in modern technology stacks, and a willingness to continue learning and expanding technical skills
  • Strong coachability with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
