Overview

Bob Howard Toyota is looking for a skilled individual to join our pre-owned operations team. As an Acquisition Specialist, you will use your knowledge and the data tools available of the retail and wholesale used car market to help us quickly value units flowing into our system. This role assists dealerships in valuations of vehicles acquired at the dealership

 

The Vehicle Acquisition Manager is responsible for sourcing and acquiring pre-owned vehicle inventory directly from service customers. Working within a high-volume service department generating approximately 100 Repair Orders (ROs) daily, this role identifies customers with positive equity, aging vehicles, or changing transportation needs and presents opportunities to sell or trade their vehicles to the dealership.

The successful candidate will build relationships with service customers, perform vehicle appraisals, present acquisition offers, and coordinate transactions that increase dealership inventory and support overall sales objectives.

Responsibilities

    • Engage service customers throughout the day to identify vehicle acquisition opportunities.
    • Review daily service appointments and repair orders to target qualified customers.
    • Conduct vehicle walkarounds and appraisals.
    • Present dealership purchase offers and explain vehicle valuation.
    • Generate appraisal appointments and acquisition leads.
    • Partner with Sales and Service departments to maximize customer retention.
    • Identify customers with equity positions that make them candidates for trade or upgrade.
    • Coordinate vehicle inspections, title documentation, and acquisition paperwork.
    • Maintain detailed records of customer interactions and acquisition activities in CRM.
    • Follow up with unsold opportunities through phone, text, and email.
    • Achieve monthly acquisition and appointment goals.
    • Maintain a visible presence on the service drive during peak customer traffic hours.
    • Build and maintain relationships with service advisors to identify opportunities.
    • Ensure a professional and positive customer experience throughout the acquisition process

Qualifications

  •  Automotive retail / wholesale / re-marketing experience a plus.
  • Two years of experience in a dealership position is a plus.
  • Experience using CRM and dealership software systems
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
  • A great work ethic and ability to work both independently and with a team
  • Excellent communication skills, including customer service and customer care.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, specifically Excel and Word functions.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
