Entry Level Automotive Technician / Apprentice Technician

Folsom Lake Toyota, part of the Fortune 250 Group 1 Automotive family, is growing and looking for motivated Entry Level Automotive Technicians who are eager to learn, build their skills, and become factory-trained Toyota technicians.

Whether you've recently graduated from an automotive program, have hands-on mechanical experience, or simply have a strong passion for working on vehicles, we'll provide the training, mentorship, and career path to help you succeed.

The pay for this position is $18 - $25 per hour.

Responsibilities

As an Entry Level Technician, you'll work alongside experienced professionals while developing your skills performing:

  • Routine maintenance including oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid services
  • Multi-point vehicle inspections
  • Brake inspections and basic brake service
  • Tire installation, balancing, and repairs
  • Battery testing and replacement
  • Vehicle diagnostics using Toyota factory equipment (as training progresses)
  • Maintaining accurate repair documentation
  • Keeping a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Working as part of a collaborative, high-performing service team
  • Delivering quality workmanship that exceeds customer expectations

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

  • Passion for the automotive industry and a desire to build a long-term career
  • Previous automotive experience, trade school education, or personal mechanical experience is a plus—but not required
  • Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn
  • Positive attitude and team-first mindset
  • Dependable, punctual, and self-motivated
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to follow repair procedures and safety guidelines
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work throughout the day
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
