Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and motivate the sales team to achieve monthly and annual sales objectives.
  • Recruit, train, and develop sales consultants to improve performance and customer service.
  • Monitor sales activities, key performance indicators (KPIs), and dealership profitability.
  • Assist sales staff in closing vehicle sales and resolving customer concerns.
  • Ensure an outstanding customer experience throughout the buying process.
  • Manage inventory to maintain the proper mix of vehicles and maximize turnover.
  • Collaborate with the Finance & Insurance (F&I) department to facilitate financing and product sales.
  • Review deals for accuracy, profitability, and compliance with dealership policies.
  • Analyze sales reports, market trends, and competitor activity to develop effective sales strategies.
  • Establish pricing strategies and approve vehicle discounts within dealership guidelines.
  • Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing automotive sales.
  • Foster a positive, high-performance team culture.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • 3–5 years of automotive sales experience, with prior supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Proven record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service abilities.
  • Knowledge of dealership management systems (DMS), CRM software, and inventory management tools.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time position with evening, weekend, and holiday availability as needed.

Typical Salary (U.S.)

  • Compensation  $120,000-150,000  annually
