Overview

Mercedes-Benz of Shreveport is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Used Vehicle Acquisition Specialist to join our growing pre-owned operations team. This position plays a critical role in supporting the dealership's inventory acquisition efforts by evaluating vehicles, analyzing market data, and assisting with accurate vehicle valuations.

The ideal candidate has automotive industry experience, strong analytical skills, and a solid understanding of both retail and wholesale vehicle markets. This individual will work closely with dealership personnel and internal team members to provide competitive and timely vehicle appraisals that support our pre-owned vehicle acquisition strategy

 

 

Responsibilities

 

 

 
  • Assess vehicle condition using electronic condition reports, photos, and supporting documentation.
  • Review vehicle history reports, market trends, auction data, and pricing tools to determine vehicle values.
  • Analyze retail and wholesale market conditions to support acquisition decisions.
  • Communicate directly with dealership personnel to verify vehicle information and obtain additional details when needed.
  • Partner with internal team members to determine market-based valuations and acquisition recommendations.
  • Submit appraisal values within established response and turnaround timeframes.
  • Maintain accuracy and consistency in all vehicle evaluations.
  • Monitor current automotive market trends, pricing fluctuations, and inventory demand
  • Support dealership inventory acquisition efforts through informed data-driven decisions.
  • Maintain professional communication with dealership teams and leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and valuation standards.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of automotive retail, wholesale, remarketing, vehicle acquisition, or appraisal experience.
  • Strong knowledge of used vehicle valuation and market analysis.
  • Ability to interpret vehicle condition reports and vehicle history information.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional internal customer service.

Preferred

  • Two or more years of dealership experience.
  • Previous experience in used vehicle acquisitions, inventory management, appraisal, remarketing, or wholesale operations.
  • Experience within technology, software, or automotive technology environments.
  • Familiarity with vehicle pricing tools, auction platforms, and market valuation systems.
