Overview

Group 1 Automotive is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Warranty Assistant Manager to support and oversee warranty accounting and operational activities across multiple dealerships. This role is responsible for leading team members involved in warranty reconciliations, manufacturer statement processing, aging schedules, reporting, and daily dealership support activities.

Responsibilities

  • Overall Account reconciliation assessment at month-end
    • Daily communication assessment activity for all dealerships
    • Various monthly statements/invoices from the vehicle manufacturer
    • Maintaining various other aging account schedules
    • Creating and managing warranty performance reports and metrics
  • Accomplish General Accounting human resource objectives by:
    • Selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees
    • Communicating job expectations
    • Planning, monitoring, and appraising job contributions
    • Adhering to policies and procedures
  • Meet General Accounting operational standards by:
    • Implementing productivity performance standards (i.e., Key Performance Metrics)
    • Contributing information to strategic plans and reviews
    • Implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards
    • Resolving problems
    • Identifying system improvements
  • Maintains financial security by adhering to internal accounting controls
  • Protects the organization’s value by keeping information confidential

Qualifications

  • 1-3 yr Team Lead/Supervisory/Manager level experience
  • Prior dealership experience preferred; not required.
  • Basic accounting knowledge.
  • Experience using CDK and/or ERP systems preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated. 
  • Must be able to work extended hours at month-end.
  • Great attitude with high-energy personality.
  • High School diploma required; Bachelor’s, Master’s, and/or Certifications preferred.
