Overview

The Manager of Corporate Accounting is responsible for overseeing key corporate accounting functions and supporting the monthly and quarterly close processes. This role will lead a team of accounting professionals while partnering with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency, maintain strong internal controls, and support the Company’s financial reporting and compliance requirements.

 

This is a highly visible role requiring strong technical accounting expertise, leadership capabilities, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

  • Provide performance management, feedback, and development opportunities for team members

  • Oversee corporate accounting activities, ensuring timely and accurate completion of monthly and quarterly close processes

  • Ensure accurate preparation, review, and approval of balance sheet accounts, reconciliations, balance sheet analytics and corporate results reviews

  • Manage corporate journal entries and submissions to the Consolidations team

  • Oversee accounting and analysis for self-funded medical reserves

  • Manage accounting and quarterly review of Property & Casualty (P&C) reserves, including coordination with Legal, Risk Management, and external stakeholders

  • Ensure reserve methodologies are applied consistently and supported by appropriate analysis

  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with corporate policies and U.S. GAAP

  • Oversee governance processes, including Delegation of Authority updates and user access reviews

  • Support internal and external audits, ensuring timely completion of audit requests

  • Serve as a key liaison with Legal, F&I, Tax, Consolidations, and Internal Audit teams

  • Coordinate accounting activities across multiple entities and functional areas

  • Support compensation-related accounting, including bonus accruals and executive compensation

  • Prepare and present financial analyses, reporting, and Board-level materials to senior leadership, including preparation of Board materials 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a people management or lead role within a large, complex organization.
  • Have a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, reserve accounting, and corporate reporting
  • Have a proven ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

 

The ideal candidate should have:

  • Hold an active CPA license or be CPA-eligible with a path to obtaining their license.
  • A working knowledge of Oracle ERP, Oracle Smart View and FCCS Consolidation Software
  • An intermediate knowledge of Microsoft software products, particularly Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Experience utilizing AI tools, such as ChatGPT, in accounting workflows.
