Senior Manager, Brand and Communications

 

BACKGROUND:

Group 1 Automotive, Inc. is rebranding our national dealership network, with the goal of uniting our stores under a single brand and providing a more consistent and competitive omni-channel experience, rooted in delivering exceptional customer service.

 

This new role combines BRAND ADVOCACY and internal COMMUNICATIONS to help us realize the full potential of the rebrand and delivering more unified and compelling communications throughout the organization.

Group 1 Automotive Inc., is seeking a Senior Manager, Brand and Communications leader. The right candidate will be enthusiastic about influencing colleagues throughout the business to adopt the new brand and deliver on its promises. In addition to being a brand ambassador, leading internal communications, both strategy and execution, is a key part of this new role. The Senior Manager of Brand and Communications is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive communication strategies across all internal channels and GP1 social media, crafting and delivering messages to help maintain a positive and vibrant culture.

 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 BRAND MANAGEMENT

  • Brand Execution

Executing brand strategies to achieve business goals. Strong influencing skills and the ability to galvanize people with different roles around a common goal.

  • Brand Consistency:

Ensuring that all brand communications and activities are consistent with established brand guidelines and voice. 

  • Performance Analysis:

Monitoring and analyzing the performance of brand initiatives, using data to identify areas for improvement and optimize strategies. 

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Working closely with various teams (marketing, store leaders: GM’s and Market Directors), to ensure alignment and effective execution of brand strategies. 

  • Stakeholder Management:

Communicating brand strategies and performance to internal stakeholders, including senior marketing and store leaders, as well as other relevant teams. 

  • Campaign Management:

Overseeing the development and execution of marketing campaigns across various channels (advertising, digital, social media, etc.).

 

COMMUNICATIONS

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy aligned with Group 1’s goals, including key messages, target audiences, and communication channels. Establish and drive a multi-channel communications strategy
  • Content Creation: Write and edit internal communications, social media posts, and other communication materials. Collaborate with leadership to ensure consistent messaging across all platforms. Develop the Group 1 brand voice and maintain brand integrity across all platforms. Assist in the creation of digital, video, audio and print content
  • Crisis Communication: Execute communication plans to manage reputational issues during emergencies. Group 1 also has external agency support for crisis communications
  • Brand Management: Ensure consistent brand messaging across all communication channels, maintaining brand identity and integrity
  • Internal Communications: Develop and manage internal communication strategies to keep employees informed about company updates, initiatives, and policies
  • Social Media Management: Develop Group 1’s social media presence, develop content calendars and execute strategy
  • Metrics and Analysis: Track key communication metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of communication campaigns and identify areas for improvement 
  • Presentation Development and Positioning for Leadership team:  Help with thought leadership and presentations from quarterly board meetings to annual leadership conference
  • Employer Branding Proactively seeks opportunities that make Group 1 an employer of choice at all levels, from technicians to salespeople. Partner with HR in identifying opportunities to connect with potential colleagues at different stages of the employee lifecycle
  • Future Facing: Engage with Group 1 vision, develop, and implement new and creative channels and content that supports engagement strategies, company strategies and corporate objectives

 

 Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, advertising, journalism, public relations, or a related field 
  • Experience working in global or national multi-office environment and collaborating with team members in different offices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. A passion for writing and for helping people become clearer communicators
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning abilities
  • Ideally has collaborated with HR on messaging around benefits / total rewards
  • Proven experience in crisis communications
  • Deep understanding of digital and social media platforms
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with communications technologies
  • Understand principles of copywriting, graphic design, layout and publishing
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and social media marketing
  • Impeccable copywriting and copy-editing abilities
