The Communication Manager is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive communication strategies across all internal channels and GP1 social media, crafting messaging that aligns with Group 1’s brand. This person will manage communications to help maintain a positive and vibrant culture.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy aligned with Group 1’s goals, including key messages, target audiences and communication channels. Establish and drive a multi-channel communications strategy
- Content Creation: Write and edit internal communications, social media posts and other communication materials. Collaborate with leadership to ensure consistent messaging across all platforms. Develop the Group 1 brand voice and maintain brand integrity across all platforms. Assist in the creation of digital, video, audio and print content
- Crisis Communication: Execute communication plans to manage reputational issues during emergencies. Group 1 also has external agency support for crisis communications
- Brand Management: Ensure consistent brand messaging across all communication channels, maintaining brand identity and integrity
- Internal Communications: Develop and manage internal communication strategies to keep employees informed about company updates, initiatives, and policies
- Social Media Management: Develop Group 1’s social media presence, develop content calendars and execute strategy
- Metrics and Analysis: Track key communication metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of communication campaigns and identify areas for improvement
- Future Facing: Engage with Group 1 vision, develop, and implement new and creative channels and content that supports engagement strategies, company strategies and corporate objectives
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field
- Experience working in global or national multi-office environment and collaborating with team members in different offices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. A passion for writing and for helping people become clearer communicators
- Strong strategic thinking and planning abilities
- Ideally has collaborated with HR on messaging around benefits, and other employee perks
- Proven experience in crisis communications
- Deep understanding of digital and social media platforms
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency with communications technologies
- Understand principles of copywriting, graphic design, layout and publishing
- Familiarity with social media platforms and social media marketing
- Impeccable copywriting and copy-editing abilities
