Tax Intern

We are seeking a Tax intern to join our company. The candidate will have opportunities to learn the retail automotive industry and tax laws applying to domestic, foreign, and cross-border transactions. The candidate will join an experienced tax team who will help the candidate develop his/her tax career.

Our tax department plays a vital role in ensuring compliance with tax laws and optimizing tax strategies to support our company's growth.

Internship Overview:  We are looking for someone who is detail oriented, self-motivated with the willingness to learn a variety of tax technical areas. The candidate should have excellent problem- solving skills, strong teamwork skills, strong work ethic, high professionalism, and effective oral and written communication skills. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft memorandums to document tax positions
• Assist in the preparation of Federal Income Tax Returns
• Research certain federal and state tax matters
• Assist with Fixed Asset processes
• Assist with various Property Tax functions

Qualifications:

• Junior or Senior status currently pursuing a degree in Accounting
• Preferred Minimum of a 3.00 cumulative GPA
• Strong interest in taxation and desire to pursue a career in tax
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
