Overview

We are seeking a talented Network Engineer with extensive knowledge of Fortinet based products to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our existing network infrastructure, with a focus on Fortinet technologies. This role will serve as the key network engineer covering our organization’s Datacenters, Corporate office, Houston locations and providing support on a global level as part of Group 1’s already seasoned and well-developed network team.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on Fortinet-based solutions such as FortiGate firewalls, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager, and FortiSASE. 
  • Monitor and optimize network performance, security, and reliability to ensure the integrity of our network infrastructure. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess business requirements and implement network solutions that align with organizational objectives. 
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for network-related issues, both locally in Houston and globally across our organization. 
  • Develop and maintain documentation, procedures, and standards for network configurations and best practices. 
  • Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies, particularly in the realm of network security, and make recommendations for continuous improvement. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 
  • Extensive experience working with Fortinet-based products and solutions, including design, implementation, and maintenance. 
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, and security principles. 
  • Proven experience in network administration, including troubleshooting and performance optimization. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. 
  • Relevant certifications such as Fortinet Network Security Expert (NSE) or Fortinet Certified Network Security Administrator (FCNSA) are highly desirable.
