Overview

Group 1 Automotive is a leading Fortune 300 automotive retailer committed to delivering exceptional customer experiences. We are seeking a highly skilled IT Director to join our team and oversee our IT operations across multiple groups. 

 

The IT Director will be responsible for the day-to-day management of various IT groups, including networking, infrastructure, desktop support, and helpdesk/remote support teams. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage and coordinate these teams, ensuring a cohesive workforce with a strong output of support.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the IT department, including networking, infrastructure, desktop support, and helpdesk/remote support teams. 
  • Develop and implement IT strategies and initiatives to support the company’s goals. 
  • Ensure the efficient operation of all IT systems and infrastructure.  
  • Lead and mentor IT team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. 
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies, procedures, and regulations incorporating best practices at every opportunity. 
  • Communicate effectively with both the CIO as well as stakeholders in the organization.  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. 
  • A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in IT management. 
  • Knowledge and/or experience with multiple technology stack providers and security implementations. 
  • Strong communication, leadership and team management skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously. 
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. 
  • Knowledge of IT security and compliance standards.
